ABOUT PROF. LUCAS MEILI
Dr. Lucas Meili is a Full Professor at the Center for Technology of the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL), in Maceió, Alagoas, Brazil. Prof. Meili graduated in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande (Brazil) and obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of São Carlos (Brazil) in 2009. His areas of interest are focused on separation processes, water and wastewater treatment, and materials synthesis. In particular, he is interested in dye and pharmaceutical adsorption processes, as well as the synthesis of biochar, clays, and carbon quantum dots. He has several publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and serves as an editor for Heliyon (Elsevier), Water Science Technology (IWA), Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental (ABES), and Journal of Applied Water Engineering and Research (Taylor and Francis). Dr. Meili has published articles in high-impact scientific journals, covering various topics related to pollutant removal, adsorption, materials synthesis, and water treatment. His publications demonstrate a particular focus on the application of materials as adsorbents in pollutant removal processes, as well as the evaluation of synthesis methods and water treatment processes. Additionally, his publications indicate an interdisciplinary approach, encompassing areas such as chemistry, chemical engineering, and materials science. His research has direct application in the environmental field, contributing to the development of more efficient methods and materials for the treatment of water and contaminated wastewater.
